I am traveling to Scotland next year and I need to know what preperations i should make. help please!?
Well you said you already have your passport in order. That's good. If you're staying for an extended period of time (like over a year) you'll need a visa or other special permit to stay that long. If it's just a vacation, don't worry about it.
Figure out now how you are getting from the airport to your hostel/hotel/whatever. Does the airport have a shuttle to take you into a city and from there can you walk? Or can you call a cab? I made that mistake before, walked forever.
If you're a student, bring your student ID. You can get discounts on lots of things. If you're not a student try a AAA membership or if you're a senior.
Be careful with your camera, mp3 player, anything electronic. For some reason when I went through the metal detectors and stuff at security checks, the power in my electronics got sucked dry. Only my regular battery powered things had any juice.
As for other things to bring with you, don't bring alot. Pack as light as you can. Most things you can buy little sample things of once you get there like toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. Do bring a rain jacket or buy a small umbrella there, because you will get wet. It's a fact of life in Scotland. Clothes can be washed or sprayed with a little Febreze if they get a little stinky so don't pack your whole wardrobe.
I recommend buying a money belt to wear under your clothes to carry things like cash (but no coins), credit cards, debit cards. Don't bring travelers checks!! I can't stress that enough. They'll screw you at the banks and good luck finding anyone else who will cash them. I recommend sticking with a debit card. Works just like cash at stores and can be used at ATMs. Just watch out for bank fees, they can be a killer.
Well that was a rather extended answer! Hope you found at least some of it helpful!
Rechargeable batteries Metal Detector Accessories.Dirt cheap, and they are 3000mah.and I do not mean AA, AAA, or C cell size, more to the point they are using a 1400 or 1700 mAH battery where a 2200 or 2500 mAH .
